Rachael C. Kogen

Rachael Kogen is a Partner at Fraser, Watson & Croutch and joined the firm in March 2009. Her practice focuses on the defense of healthcare institutions and healthcare providers in complex medical malpractice and elder abuse litigation.

Ms. Kogen is currently the 2023/2024 Chair of the Executive Committee for the Litigation Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association (BHBA) after serving as 2022/2023 Vice Chair of the Committee. She is on the Board of Directors of We Care Los Alamitos, an organization that runs a local food bank and provides emergency rental assistance to individuals and families in need. She is also an active member of Southern California Association of Hospital Risk Managers, Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, and several other bar associations in Southern California. Ms. Kogen was the 2020 and 2021 President of the Southeast District Bar Association of Los Angeles County (SEDBA) after being a trustee on the SEDBA Board for three years.

Ms. Kogen began her litigation career in New York in 1994 defending hospitals and doctors. She worked as a senior associate at the country’s largest professional liability law firm, Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker focusing on defending medical professionals. After practicing for almost ten years in New York, she relocated to California in 2004 and passed the California Bar Exam. She continued her career in Southern California at the Cooperative of American Physicians’ in-house law firm, Schmid & Voiles, defending doctors in all areas of medical negligence until she joined Fraser Watson & Croutch in 2009.

While focusing on the successful workup and resolution of medical malpractice cases, Ms. Kogen also enjoys building relationships with valued healthcare clients. She has presented numerous lectures to educate the healthcare and legal community on topics such as Anatomy of a Medical Malpractice Case, Wound Care Litigation, Mandatory Reporting Requirements for Healthcare Providers in Suspected Adult and Child Abuse, Best Practices for Medical Documentation, Deposition Skills, and MICRA.

Ms. Kogen looks forward to aggressively and ethically representing healthcare clients and giving back to the community through her work with the Beverly Hills Bar Association and We Care.
